A View of the City

These pictures are not of any special sites, but just a few shots to show you some ordinary streets, buildings and views of the city.  I have yet to see a house in Paris as the streets are dominated by apartment buildings similar to this one.  I love the wrought iron balconies and the flower boxes many people hang over the edge of their windows.

The other day we spent some time in one of the ward member's apartment.  It felt strange to be in a "home" again with a real living room and kitchen!  They confided that their company pays for their housing and that their last apartment had been sold for over 2 million dollars!  Needless to say, housing in Paris is exorbitant!

In central Paris skyscrapers are strictly prohibited and buildings cannot exceed a height of over 6 stories.  However, further out in the city you can find some towering office and apartment buildings.  I love looking around and enjoying the differences of each edifice, wondering what inspired the architect and how it was actually built.  There is beauty all around us!
