The Christmas Holidays

Okay folks, we are now almost at Easter and I am refusing to give up my blogging, but the only way to get back on track is to majorly skim through the past couple of months with simply highlights rather than getting wordy and describing feelings, events, etc.  So here goes a major dump of posts to FINALLY get me caught up once and for all and hopefully keep me caught up too!

Rewind to Monday December 22.  After Tasha's wedding, we headed home to Cedar to celebrate Christmas.  Daphne threw up twice on the way home and didn't get a single drop in Darrin's truck (phew!). We felt well enough to head to Parowan for Christmas Eve where we had a delish dinner and then played Santa Claus with the Adams family and delivered several boxes of presents, food, etc, to a family in need.  Love that tradition.  After doing a nativity and a brief talent show we hit the road to head back to Cedar and Burke suddenly started feeling yucky.  Enter majorly lame Christmas with a husband puking his guts out, a sleeping newborn, a Mama starting to catch the bug and Daphne full of all her 3 year old enthusiasm.  Poor kid.  I hope she doesn't remember much of this one.  And picture taking was next to zilch.  Sad.

Once we were on the up and up my parents visited on their way from St. George with the Ridings back to Logan.  We had a great time having them here and loved the late night conversations as always.

Here are a few pictures from the week of Christmas.

Our Christmas Card for 2014

An attempt at a Christmas Eve family photo.  I know it's dumb, but I was annoyed Burke wouldn't wear the black and read sweater I had asked him to.  Maybe that's why this is the best picture of several attempts.  Ha ha!

And another failed attempt at Christmas Eve sisterly love.  I love these little beauties so much it hurts!  Also, Burke curled Daphne's hair.  True story.

The sneaky elves in goggle/sunglass disguises before delivering the presents to a family in need.  Kevin's marker mustache is so creepy!

I caught Daphne staring at the tree right before bedtime on Christmas Eve.  Oh the magic of Christmas to a child!

Christmas morning - the only two pictures either of us took the whole day.  But luckily this captures the two most beloved presents - Burke's new Les Paul ukulele that can plug into an amp and Daphne's stuffed animals of Piggie and Gerald plus a couple of the books.  If you haven't read the "Piggie and Elephant" children's books you must!

Daphne and Grandpa launching Melvin and Flo the cocharoaches again.  Daphne shocked all by landing in the red bowl target from across the room.  She was pretty dang proud.  Dad's eyes swelled up after eating a mixed nuts present.  Poor thing.

Burke and the girls earlier in December when we decorated the tree after Burke got home from work one night.

Darcie was mesmorized by the tree.
