A Little Boat Ride

The Seine River winds it way through Paris and is a great path to follow as many of the big attractions of the city lie next to or near it.  As I mentioned before, the first day of our culture class, we took a little boat ride up and down a short portion of the river, passing Les Invalides (the tomb/shrine to Napoleon Bonaparte), La Conciergerie (the prison where Marie Antoinette was held for 2 months before she was executed), all the big name museums, the Eiffel Tour, Notre Dame, etc... Many of the bridges had the letter "N" on the side standing for the reign of Napoleon and Pont Neuf (the oldest bridge in Paris) is supported by comical sculptures of heads sticking out their tongues and making funny faces.  Under one of the bridges (can't remember the name) it is a famous spot where you must make a wish and kiss someone while floating under to make it come true.  Despite his embarrassment of PDA, Burke gave me a killer smooch, guarantying a fulfilled wish!
