Calves and Pups

After Grandma Elaine's 95th Birthday Party back in February, a bunch of Burke's cousins joined us in waves with their children down at the farm to see Sally's new batch of puppies and the brand new calves that were starting to be born.

We were with just the Hughes for a while (so so good to spend a little time with them again - we miss them!) and were cracking up watching Daphne, Hudson and Brinlee love on the puppies.  With 5 little pups running around, Daph would corner one of them and grab a purchase on the fur somewhere and then reel that squirming pup in until she could hoist it up, usually in a choke hold around the neck.  I would have been more concerned, but she'd get tired after less than 2 seconds and put the puppy back down to look for another victim friend to love on.

The sweet baby calf in the pen was only 2 days old and it was so precious to see the puppies treating her as another sibling.  At one point she settled down in the corner and one of the puppies curled up on top of her back.  My picture doesn't do it justice - it was so dang cute!
