January Happenings 2014
Things I never got around to post about in January.
1) Burke's ding-a-ling dang mouth has cost a pretty penny over the past few months. First he had to completely remove a tooth, followed by a bone graft, followed by a root canal (on a DIFFERENT tooth) and now we are waiting for the latest screw to heel up so they can put in an implant. Ugh. I'm just grateful he won't be in pain anymore. Those teeth have been causing him a lot of pain.

2) Okay, this next one is a BIG deal. For the first time ever, I attended the festivities in Parowan on the 13th day of January for Parowan's Birthday. You know, I love my hometown, but these Parowanites are so full of pride for the "Mother Town". There is a traditional set of dances and performances for each grade (from kindergarten to seniors), they sing a special birthday song for Parowan, then there is The Grand March headed off by the Parowan Citizen of the year, followed by a yummy luncheon and a town meeting. Daphne and I skipped off after the lunch, but had a good time supporting Sadie and Macey during the rest of the events.

3) The same day our offer was accepted on the house was a very special day for Burke's sister Kristen as she was able to go through the temple for the first time. Krissy has grown leaps and bounds in the last year and it has been such a privilege to live in the same city with her to get to hear her updates often. She was so ready for the temple and it was such a sweet experience to be there with her and a good portion of the family. Alan and Marie treated us all to dinner afterwards at Red Robin which was so kind and a welcome outing. So proud of Kristen and the wonderful choices she is making in her life.
