Yet Another Tender Mercy
Remember how Burke worked for SunFirst Bank in St. George for 5 years? Remember how he quit his job when we went to Paris to finish school? Perhaps you recall us being out of work for 5 months on our return. Oh, and then of course two months ago when SunFirst contacted Burke and asked him to come back with a huge promotion, paid vacation, insurance, holidays. It was 2 blocks from our apartment, we wouldn't have to buy a second car or commute which would leave us with two extra hours together a day. It seemed too good to be true. So we turned it down. After praying about it and receiving a feeling of peace about Mesquite and Kokopelli, we decided that the answer that made the most sense wasn't the way God wanted us to go.
Now just a little over 2 months later, aren't we grateful?

Poor SunFirst. So many good people there and they put up a good fight. We hope that many of our friends will be able to keep their jobs as the new bank takes over.
