Update #3 - The Honeymoon: June 7 - June 13

Burke did an AWESOME job planning our honeymoon! We spent the first 4 days on an enormous Carnival Cruise Ship called “Elation.” We were both stunned time and time again at how gigantic the ship was, amazed at its engineering as well as the wonderful service demonstrated by all of the staff; room service, crew members, entertainers, etc. Everyone just seemed happy to be there!

Highlights of the cruise included:
· Eating every 3 hours J
· Kayaking around Catalina Island
· Ordering Room Service (FREE, I might add) at 3 AM
· Playing life size chess
· Renting a scooter in Ensenada, Mexico
· Playing Bingo and ALMOST winning
· Beating Burke on the travel chess set we purchased in Mexico
· Animals shaped out of towels courtesy of the cleaning crew
· Sleeping in!
· Fancy Smanchy dinners where you could order anything you wanted (the couple that ate with us each night would order 3 Entrees and 2-3 Main Courses each night just cause they could)
· Watching the beautiful ocean from our cabin and on the breezy deck
· Soaking up every second with my HUSBAND!

Part two of the honeymoon was two lovely days spent in San Diego. We stayed at a darling little spot called the Beach Haven Inn, just half a block from the beach. Unfortunately for almost our entire honeymoon it was cloudy and a bit windy, so we didn’t spend any time sun bathing. We did however enjoy an evening stroll on the sand, watching the sunset and an army of surfers in black wet suits hitting the evening tide.

Highlights of San Diego included:
· Doing sealings at the San Diego temple. Burke and I were both in awe at how beautiful the temple is, both inside and out.
· SEAWORLD! Talk about awesome! I could not get over how amazing those shows were and I am still mind boggled as to how they train the animals. Wow.
· Along with SeaWorldShamu!
· My first encounter with Pink Flamingos. Those are the weirdest birds!
· Frolicking in the waves
· Watching Comedy Central
· Hot tubbing at the hotel
· Amazing chocolate dessert at Nick’s Seafood Shack
It was a wonderful trip and a great start to our marriage. We both highly recommend a cruise to anyone contemplating it and hope to go on another one next summer – Alaska anyone?
