50's Sock Hop!
So our ward is way into going above and beyond in their callings and here is a prime example. About a month ago we were involved in the ward party centered around a 50's theme. There were cutouts of Elvis, Betty Boop and James Dean, classic cars in front of the church to take your picture in, a "drive in" movie screen, popcorn and rootbeer float bar, records hanging from the ceiling, checkerboard dancing floor and a jukebox to boot!
As usual, they asked Burke to play his guitar in a few numbers and (as usual) he sounded great! The gaggle of girls in the collage below are the majority of the young women that I teach. They are such dolls and did such a great job in a group dance number as well as rushing the stage when our ward Elvis came out for his number. Very cute.
