A List of Happys
I keep waiting for things to slow down, but I feel like we have just been running to keep up since December. So many good things going on, but not enough time to document it all, so here is a big 'ol list of some recent things that have made me feel happy.
1) This picture. It kills me every time! Enough said.
2) The Jaguar sold a couple of weeks ago! Hooray! It was a Win-Win-Win (as Michael Scott would say). The Bradley's were thrilled to get the car out of their garage, we were grateful for the chance to fix it up and make a little money off of it and the buyers were happy because we gave them a great deal too! I'm proud of Burke for seeing an opportunity and taking the risk to make it happen.

3) At the start of March we started paying rent to the new home owners, Ted and Tina. They have been so nice to us. They are having an awning built on the back of the house that will make this spring and summer SO much nicer as we'll now have shade during the day and can play outside more often! Not only that, but they're letting us use some of their beautiful furniture until they move in sometime in November. They are so generous with us and so cute with Daphne. We are very grateful to have them as landlords!
4) On Friday, March 1, we did a conference call with Burke's family to hear as Burke's youngest brother Brett opened his mission call. He has been called to serve for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Columbia, South Carolina and reports to the Missionary Training Center on April 17th. The Adams brothers are all stoked because this means they've hit ever direction in North America. Mike went north to Canada, Burke went South to Texas, Kevin went West to Washington and now Brett will be on the East coast. We're all very proud of his decision to serve and grateful for the miracle that took place to make it happen (more on that to come). This also means we'll have 2 missionaries in the MTC at the same time (Tasha reports on April 6) and we are so excited for both of them!
On Tuesday (March 12) we were able to attend the St. George Temple to be with Brett while he received his endowment. We owe a million thanks to Cassie who met us in the temple parking lot to pick up Daphne at the last minute. She made it possible for us to be there and we never would have made it otherwise! (THANK YOU CASSIE JO!) It was so special to be there with the entire family, except for Krissy who hasn't gone through yet. We missed her and look forward to the day when she will go through the temple too. Here we all are (there were about twice as many of us with the extended family before this pic) out to eat at Golden Corral to celebrate with Brett. Daphne was running me ragged that night. Ugh.
5) I feel like our Young Women are FINALLY starting to like us (a year later)! They are such darlings and I love them all to pieces. On Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, we went on a Winter Retreat with the Young Women to Kelby and Allyson's second home in Parowan. Out of our 20 girls on the role, we only had 5 attend, but it turned out perfectly! We were there less than 24 hours, but I am so grateful we went to all the effort to put it together. I learned a lot about the girls and we had such a good time together eating, talking, laughing, playing games, going down the zip line, having mini-workshops, crafting and talking about the gospel. For the grand finale we went out to eat at the Parowan Cafe and took a little group photo. Later that evening I got a text message from our sweet Estelle. Daphne deleted all my messages or I would put it on here word-for-word, but basically she said how much fun she had, how she felt closer to all of us now and that she knew we were in YW for a reason. It made me cry! It's amazing how a little feedback like that makes all the sacrifices and hard work completely worth it.
6) Recently, my sister-in-law, Marinda, had bed bugs in their home and had to get the whole house sprayed, plus they had to buy a bunch of new furniture. Rather than cry and moan about the experience as I'm sure I would have done, she wrote the most tender and inspiring blog about it found HERE. I was so impressed by her attitude and have been thinking about it for days. She inspires me to want to be more positive.
7) Marinda also just announced that they are preggo with baby boy #4! We can't wait to meet yet another blonde-haired, big-grin Bush boy!
8) Speaking of new babies, my sister-in-law, Catherine, just announced she is preggo with baby #3! We are so excited for her! Here's the darling way she told everyone.
9) Tasha, Mom and Dad were down this weekend. We had such a nice visit with them. We got to golfing, played games, watched Corner Gas, worked on a little family history, and even had a chill hour listening to music and crying over the country songs together. :) I haven't done that for a long long time and it felt so good!
10) I bought a spring dress and I am so excited about it! What is it about new clothes that makes you feel just a bit more confident and a bit more beautiful? So grateful to Burkie who encouraged me to do it. He's so good to me.

I could write a dozen more "happys", but for now I'll just say that life is good, life is great, life is wonderful! (That's for you Rachel - remember how you used to chant that while we ran ladders during soccer conditioning?) The perfect mantra while striving for the positive!
