Adams Legacy 2014

Stole this picture off of Krissy's blog of my sweet sister-in-laws (Kellie, Kristen, Catherine) and mother-in-law (Marie).  Such awesome ladies.  I'm so lucky I married into such a great family.

On Friday and Saturday, August 25 and 26th we camped at Co-Op for an extended Adams family reunion headed up by Aunt Andrea and the Hughes Family.  Out of the 140 family members who showed up (with a good 30 who couldn't make it - what a posterity!) Burke and I were the only family who camped in an actual tent Friday night, while a few were in trailers and the rest came up Saturday morning.  Buncha whimps! :)  Even being 7 months preggo, I slept so stinkin good.  I love tent camping, even when the crazy squirrel started screaming at us at 4:00 AM and throwing pine cones at our tent!

Some of the highlights included:

1) Grandma Elaine kickin' it back while nursing one of Burke's homemade rootbeers.
2) Finally feeling like I knew the names of 90% of the people there!
3) Lots of fun conversations.
4) A razor ride with Kellie and Wes (who surprised us all and showed up unexpectedly!) around the property.
5) A 4-wheeler ride with just Daphne and Burke to our favorite hidden spot.

6) Daphne and Hallie finding horny toads and being obsessed with them for hours.
7) Daph going a whole day at the mountain with no injuries! (Unheard of)
8) Watching the kids do the minute to win it games.
9) The delicious food! Nom nom nom.
10) When Elaine's 5 children present gathered us all together to talk about Grandpa Roy and how he would have been 100 years old this year.  Each of the kids shared memories of their Dad, especially about his death and the impact it had on them.  My father-in-law was just 11 when his Dad died.  They had an old plaid coat of Roy's as well as his favorite milking stool to show everyone.  It was a very emotional, tender presentation.

So glad to be part of such a neat group of people.

Alan is wearing Roy's old red plaid coat in the background.
