Wee One

Wee One,

Tonight Daddy and I got to stay up late with you.  You were full of boundless energy, limitless giggles; exuding trust and happiness and love with every gleeful gaped-toothed grin.  I wondered how it was possible to love a tiny infant-near-toddler with every cell coursing through my body.  How is it that your needs and wants supersede all desires of my own?  Sleep, sustenance, work; all waylaid in the wake of your chubby reaching arms.  I was only compelled to part from you with the knowledge that your health and happiness tomorrow depend upon your rest tonight.  It was a shame to put you to bed and lose the radiance of your bright light.
