52 Dates: #32 - Celebrating with Uncle Matt

For our date night this past week we went to the DocUtah film festival to watch a short documentary about the life of Matt Clark, Burke's Uncle, and I guess mine too, really.  Cassie watched Daphne for us and we attended a reception before the show where we ate little sandwiches and desert even though we had already had dinner.  Does anyone else have this compulsion where you must eat free food if it's there?  Ugh...my stomach was not thanking me for being a cheapskate at heart.

Anyway, back to Uncle Matt.  The movie was wonderful, although truthfully I had hoped for a little better quality just because his story is SO good and you want SO badly to see things portrayed the right way, you know?  However, the progression of the story was well done and of course hearing Matt's story from his own lips is always a moving experience.  I loved the question and answer portion after the film where Matt and Spencer Sullivan (the Dixie State student who worked on the film for 3 years) fielded inquiries from the audience that weren't answered in the film.

Oh yeah, and the Mayor of St. George declared September 6 as Matt Clark Day.  No big.

Here's a little blip KSL did on the story.  http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=22091397
