The Suitcoats

On Labor Day The Suitcoats took the stage again at the Iron County Fair!  The Adams brothers love to get together to play their guitars and this one show a year is a fun, low key way for them to learn some new songs and give their fan club (the family!) a show.  We are definitely their #1 fans and this year Danelle and Kevin designed these rad t-shirts for all of us to wear to tout our Suitcoat pride!

You may have noticed that there are 4 silhouettes on the t-shirts and only 3 brothers who play guitar.  To the great delight of the entire family, after 5 years of playing at the fair the boys were finally able to convince brother #4 (the oldest and most stubborn) to perform a number with them at last.  That's right, 'ol Michael Roy Adams agreed to sing a twangy country song in his black cowboy hat and boots and brought down the house (er...tent?) with his rendition of "County Fair" by Chris Ledoux.  I thought I had loads of room on my camera's memory card, but it died on my less than 2 minutes into the show, but here's a clip of Burke's intro to the band and Mike's opening number.

Mike's voice got a lot stronger as he went on and it turned out all the practice had paid off! :)

The other numbers on the list this year were "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations, "1-2-3-4" by Plain White T's, "Amsterdam" by Guster and of course "The Parowan Song" by Burke Adams.

The best part about the show was observing our daughter down in front of the stage dancing around and looking up at her Daddy every few minutes and squealing with delight.  She loves him likes crazy and he absolutely adores her.

Great job Suitcoats!  Until next year!
