It's the Most Wonderful Time!
It's official...we love Christmas! A few weeks ago Alan and Marie (Burke's parents and my fabulous in-laws) graciously delivered a real Christmas tree to our home from their CO-OP property. Burke let a few choice words slip as he attempted to bolt the tree in place with our cheapo tree stand, but once it was up we had a lovely time hanging out multi-colored bulbs to give it a festive flavor.
After the tree, we couldn't contain the Christmas spirit and decided to host an "Ugly Sweater Christmas Party!" Burkie and I had a blast picking out our sweaters and the prize for the "Best" sweater of the evening at DI. A small hot chocolate bar turned into crackers, cheese, shrimp, little smokies smothered in BBQ sauce and an array of holiday goodies! We also simply couldn't resist picking out a perfect set of JOHN DEERE mugs!
Our first guest of the evening was little Miss Lyndee Jo herself! I couldn't get over how stinkin' cute she was in this puffy pink snow suit!
It was a laid back event with everyone lounging about in their stunning sweaters and chatting with holiday music as background sound. I loved this mug that my brother-in-law Kevin decorated for his wife Danelle, artfully using a sharpie to create a mullet man masterpiece!
We played a really fun game called "The Last Word" that solicited some good laughs followed by (what Burke claims to be the best Christmas movie ever) "A Christmas Story." I must admit it was much funnier this time than the first time I had seen it.

The winner of the best sweater went to Burke's good buddy Todd, decked out in this teal wonder! His prize was this bulbous (*and somewhat creepy*) ceramic Santa courtesy of our DI trip.
Thanks for the fun night everybody! Can't wait to see what you knit for next years party!
