Grandpa's Obituary

Aunt Tracy just posted a link to Grandpa's obituary in the Salt Lake Tribune.  Thought I'd post it so I won't forget the link.


1920 ~ 2012
Pug was born in Cedar City, Utah on April 17, 1920 to Thomas Roy and Winifred Parry Urie. He went on to serve in theUS Navy CB's in World War II for over three years. On June 7, 1947, he married Hazel Parks from Richfield, Utah. They became the parents of four daughters and two sons.
Professionally he worked for and retired from US Steel. Pug served on the State Board of water Resources, where he served for 17 years. Pug has always been well known for his love and commitment to family, friends, work, community and county.

Pug is survived by his children Doug Urie, Janis Frank, Maire Adams, Adele Clark, Ann Blackner and Wayne Urie, 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Carol Woodbury and Barbara Bergstrom. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Hazel, son-in-law Charles Frank and grand-daughter Erin Adams, and brothers Ern, Scott, Dick and sisters Alice and Winnie.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS 2nd Ward located at 250 South 900 West, Cedar City, Utah. Viewings are Friday, December 28, 2012 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 North 300 West, Cedar City, Utah.

Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
