Disneyland - Day 2

Our second day in Disneyland was spent primarily on the Disney side.  We realized as soon as we got to the entrance that this day was going to be a whole lot more crowded than the previous one.  Sure enough, it was a zoo and 3 of the rides we attempted to ride broke down while we were in line!  However, it was such a fun day and Daphne was a complete dream.

I loved seeing her look of wonder as she got up close with Pluto and saw a couple of the princesses walk by.  She hasn't seen many movies, so she didn't know who they were, but reacted more to her cousin's excitement than her own.  I loved seeing the actors all dressed up and it made me wonder how many Cinderellas, Rapunzles, etc., they must have on staff.  What do you think?  5?  10?

Again, Daphne's favorite part of the day (besides the Jungle Safari) seemed to be the times we sat down for performances - first a little fiddle show by "Billy Bob and the Hill Billies", then the shortened version of Aladdin put on at California Adventures (so well done!) and then the final parade in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle.  She was absolutely mesmerized by Aladdin and could hardly contain her delight, constantly trying to stand on tiptoes on my lap to get a better view.  Here's a few pictures and a video of her delight with the evening parade when she got to see Mickey.

I loved riding Indiana Jones with Burke as our last hooray before headed back to the hotel.  What an amazing ride!  I couldn't get over how vast some of those chambers were and the fun special effects.  Even the wax Harrison Fords looked so real!  But my overall favorite part of the day was when we had family silhouettes done.  I have been wanting silhouettes forever and was amazed at the skillful gentleman who could cut out a perfect profile of you in less than 2 minutes without any sketching - all free hand cutting.  Pretty impressive.  I'll have to post them when I get them framed and on the wall to see if you think they look like us.

Ok, so last story for day 2 goes along with this picture.  As I mentioned, Daphne was a wonder baby all day, so we kept squeezing just one more ride in until it was 2 hours past her bedtime as we finally got onto the shuttle.  Still, she was happy and playful and eventually crawled onto the bench and laid down next to Burke, laughing.  It was a pretty sweet ending to our day until...she projectile vomited all over the bus right as we pulled up to the hotel!  Poor baby!  She hasn't thrown up since she was an infant and would spit up milk, so I was not prepared for how much that little body could hold!  The bus driver was an old lady and she couldn't handle it, so Burke and I cleaned everything up, stripped her down and just threw her clothes away rather than try to find a way to clean them.  It was a bit of a disastrous finish, but overall Disneyland was a great success!
