Easter Sunday 2013

On Easter Sunday, Brett Hugh gave his mission farewell talk.  They had 3 speakers on the program and the first lady took TWENTY-FIVE minutes!  Who does that?  Which left LeeAnn (our sis-in-law who was on the program before Brett even had his call) with 5 minutes, followed by a musical number and...times up!  By the time Brett got up it was time for the closing prayer and we were all a little miffed.  Thankfully, Brett just went ahead with his talk and did a marvelous job.  It was neat to look around and see how many people had come to hear him speak and to see the influence for good he has been in the lives of his friends/peers.

He's going to be a fantastic missionary!  Afterwards there was a big dinner over at the elementary school and we took some family photos.

The Alan and Marie Adams Family (minus Kellie)

I love this one of the guys laughing...all served (or about to serve) full time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

And this little guy (aka: Luke the Red) is next in line. :)

As we were cleaning up, the little girls found fun-noodle horses in the storage closet and went wild riding them around.

So of course Sadie had to organize a "play" for us all to watch.  That girl is so dang creative and a born leader!  I love how Daphne's just sitting in the middle like, "What the heck are we doing guys?"  Ha ha!

After the festivities, Daphne and I took a fat 3 hour nap (yes sir!) and when we woke up we drove down to the farm to join Burke and a smattering of the fam during the evening chores at the farm.  It was simply gorgeous out at the Old Farm and I couldn't help but go a little camera happy.

Isn't it beautiful?

The more time we spend there, the more I appreciate what a special little town Parowan is.

We then ran over to the church where Alan and Marie were preforming in an interfaith community Easter program.  Daphne only lasted 15 minutes, but it was nice to hear a few numbers and remarks about the Savior, reminding us of his atonement and resurrection.  I love how the buddings of spring help to remind us of the new life the resurrection brings.
