4th of July: Adams Family Co-Op Campout
Alright folks, this is getting serious. If I am keeping this blog for posterity's sake, I need to get on the ball! The last couple of months have been full of adventures for us Adamses, starting clear back over the 4th of July weekend. Kevin and Danelle (Burke's little brother and sweet wife) took the initiative and planned a campout for the Adams family at their property about 20 minutes up the canyon in Parowan near Brian Head Ski Resort. It was my first time to the family property which is called "Co-op Valley" and consists of 3200 acres of gorgeous untouched mountain land and a small lake. Once we arrived Burke took me out on the 4 wheeler to tour the valley - I was in awe of how beautiful and peaceful it was!
That night after an incredible dutch oven and bbq chicken dinner, we had a hilarious talent show with a Indian recitation of our recent cow herd by Burke and I (Paint horse Warrior and Squaw), movie quotations from Danelle and Kevin and songs from Brett, Krissy, Sadie, Macey, Ma & Pa Adams. My personal favorite was when our sweet niece Lyndee (11 months at the time) came out from behind the Pilot flying to the Superman Theme - cape and all! Adorable!
After the talent show, some guitar tunes and S'moores, the family grew quiet and reflective staring at the fire. Alan (Burke's father) stood up and told us the incredible chain of events and hard work that lead to Co-op Valley being apart of our family heritage. The neatest thing about it is that they have protected the land with a conservation so that it can never be sold and the family can only build up to 6 cabins on it. It made me so grateful to be apart of this wonderful family that holds the land we have been given.
