"Dixie-Dermatology-this-is-Emily-can-I-help-you?"
As most of you know I had a hard time finding a job when we moved to St. George. NO one was hiring and the glamorous places that I did interview at included Kiddie Kandids, telemarketing for a law firm and as you'll remember in my previous post, I had the ideal setup at Sun River Retirement Community minus the requirement to work on Sundays. Well, just as Burke predicted, making the difficult choice (but right choice) to keep on trudging through the classifieds was a HUGE blessing in disguise when I landed a job at Dixie Dermatology.
I have learned so much since I started working here in August, not only about the medical field and all sorts of funky skin conditions, but about working in an office with so many different kinds of personalities. There have been a few rough lessons, but I feel like I have grown leaps and bounds in the last five months. I don't have as many "dough!" moments and I am more relaxed with my coworkers and the patients as my confidence in my proficiency has grown. A couple of weeks ago, Caria (the darling girl that I work with up front) had her third baby and I have had to do both of our responsibilities on my own. I was a little nervous at first, but I think it has been a really good experience because it has helped me to step-up my game and work double time, which has actually been a postive experience!
I mostly just wanted to document how amazing it has been to work for the Trimbles. Dr. Trimble and his wife Melissa (who is our office manager, MOHS surgery expert and the master at every other job in between!) have been so incredible to work for and with. They are always kind, they are always professional and they go above and beyond to make us feel accepted and important here at work. For example, for Thanksgiving I came to work the day before to find a thank you card on my desk with a gift certificate in it for a grocery store to help with Thanksgiving groceries! For Christmas they threw our whole office a delightful Christmas Party at a steakhouse up at Zions that was both delicious and fun. They have worked around my school schedule so I can still be a full time student, and due to the office opening at 7, I am now a morning person (that's a good thing, I promise)! I feel so blessed to be at a job that is stretching me, improving me and that provides me with ample interactions with genuinely good people who I feel are now great friends. Heavenly Father certainly knew exactly where he wanted me so I could learn so much in such a short amount of time.
