52 Dates: #27 - Burke's Birthday!
You can't tell their brother and sister at all, can you? :)
On Thursday of this past week Catherine graciously hosted a tri-birthday party for Mike, Burke and Kristen as well as a welcome home party for Krissy who just got home from a semester abroad in Spain.
Catherine has such a gift at making things beautiful and personalized. Look at how darling Krissy's cake is (the flags are of each of the countries she visited) and how pretty each of the little cakes are. What a creative labor of love! And yes, the picture above is the best one I was able to get of the three of them since Mike was doing this the rest of the time...
Oh Mikey.
I'm a lucky woman. 31-years-young and I still think my hubby is so handsome!
Saturday was Burke's actual birthday and at long last (we're talking a 20-year-long wait) he finally got the remote control car of his dreams! It's a Micro Truck and it is crazy fast, cruising by at about 18 mph (apparently if I get him a super battery of some sort it will get up in the 20's - maybe for Christmas). You could not find a happier boy around than Burke was driving that thing around all day. It is pretty amazing and I have given up trying to think of thoughtful gifts to give him if something as simple as this can bring him so much happiness. He's just a big kid at heart.
Check out how the controller is three times as big as the actual car! Too funny. We still had Mike and LeeAnn's girls that morning and had a fun time with them before driving to St. George to meet up with their parents. We then left Daphne at Catherine's and went to the temple for a session. It's been 2 months since we've done a session together and I could seriously feel the difference.
My two greatest loves
After picking Daphne up we went out to eat at Applebee's where Daphne was an absolute dream, the food was yummy and the service was great. Daphne babbled all the way home as we enjoyed a great conversation and a rainy, golden-sky sunset. Daphne stayed up way past her bedtime delighting us with her "jumping" (an upward jerk and a big fall on her bum) and we finished off the night with one of Burke's new episodes of "Corner Gas". Such a simple, happy day. Perfect to celebrate the life of a simple, happy man. Happy Birthday to my wonderful Alan Burke.
