Local Heroines!

This article and video both shocked and delighted me yesterday.  Mary Lyn Tousa and her husband Jerry lived two apartments down from us in our St. George apartment.  They moved to St. George from Texas 14 years ago when Mary's mother, Maggie Stucki, was 86 years old, thinking that they would have a few shorts year to take care of her before she passed on.  Those "few years" turned into many and just this last year our ward hosted hundreds of people in the community to come and celebrate Maggie's 100th birthday!  She is still so sharp and funny and always had a kind word for me.  We loved having the Tousas as neighbors.  Burke once knocked on their door to watch a highly anticipated football game with Jerry since we don't have TV and they always wanted to come admire Daphne after she was born.  Maggie's apartment where this attempted robbery took place is exactly one block south from our old home!  I'm so grateful that they are okay and pray all our other neighbors and friends will be safe.  It's sad to think that stuff like this goes on even in a safe little city like St. George.
