Closure at Last

We heard from Campbells at last!  Or rather, we didn't hear from Campbells (its a week and a half since they were supposed to contact us) and I threatened Burke with my preggo wrath if he didn't call him today to get a straight answer so we could have closure.

As you probably guessed, Burke did not get the job and we are actually more than fine with that!  The guy was very nice when he talked to Burke this morning, reminding him how many other applicants he had come out on top of, told him all of the things they had liked about him in the interviewing process, and said they are going to keep his name at the top of their list for any future openings.  He said Burke was a great fit for Campbells and the only reason why they went with this other guy is because he knew how to do computer programming that Burke had no experience in.  So, in the end he suggested that Burke take some computer programming classes this summer and to keep in contact with him, because the answer is only "no" for right now.

This actually came as a big relief to Burke and I as this past week there have been some new developments at Kokepelli where Burke was promoted to Office Manager and is now using all the skills he went to school to for in Business Administration!  Basically, the Kokepelli guys are an awesome crew to work with and really good at what they do, but they are not very good business men.  They have 90 employees, loads of equipment, and hundreds of plants at the nursery, but they haven't been keeping track of any of it!  Every day Burke comes home excited, happy, and full of new ideas to improve their operation.  The Hughes boys have been very pleased with his work and he is thrilled with this opportunity to be making a difference in their company.  It is very cool to also think that Burke could make a difference at Kokepelli and sometime down the road still work for Campbells when the timing is better.

Although moving to Logan would have been great, we are also very happy to be staying in St. George. We love being close to the Ridings and so many of the Adams family, we love our ward and friends we have made here, we love our cozy apartment and the warm weather.  I also love the fact that I will not be packing up a house and moving during my 9th month of pregnancy and as soon as I got off the phone with Burke I started planning how I will decorate this nursery.  Let the nest officially begin!

Bottom line: we are happy and know that the Lord has been with us every step of the way.  He has helped us to feel at peace after we did all we could and left it in His hands.  It will be exciting to see what the next few years bring!

I really honestly believe that there isn't much worse than being in limbo, I'm glad you can finally plan a little. And you're right- Beautiful St. George? Perfect. :) Congrats.

I'm glad that you both feel good about everything.

I'm not going to lie, I would have loved having you up here, so we could have been married friends together.

When you come up this summer with your baby, WILL YOU PLEASE CALL ME?!?!?!?
