52 Dates: #4 - Hot Air Balloons and the Burr Family
On Saturday Burke and I were super excited to have another fun and *free* date. Mesquite was set to host their first Hot Air Balloon Festival with activities all day, including tethered rides and a balloon glow at night. We got up early in the morning and drove to the Casablanca Golf Course where we could see the balloons getting inflated above the housetops.
We got out of the car, tucked Daphne in and by the time we got to the driving range, all but two of the balloons were deflated! What the? Turns out the wind was blowing the wrong direction, so they couldn't send them up, which meant no rides and probably no glow. Boo hoo.
We switched gears and headed to St. George for the day instead! Our wonderful friends Kade and Brandalee invited us up for dinner so we ran some errands, visited with family and then spent the evening at the Burr's home. They are incredible cooks and introduced us to chicken lettuce wraps with this delicious teriyaki sauce modeled after their favorite appetizer from P.F. Changs. Yummy! We then played some fun games and I was reminded how much I love Nertz. It was also so fun to see Daphne and Paxon side by side again. They are only two weeks apart and it is so fun to see their differences and similarities at this age. I'd take date night with the Burrs over balloons any day! Thanks for having us Burr Family!
